My Top Ten Inspirational Quotes for 2022

“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

― Mahatma Gandhi

I can appreciate that we all experience hard times. And in these times, it may be difficult to find the light in our circumstances and situations. It’s nothing to feel ashamed of though. This is a key indicator that we are human. Our emotions range and expand much further than happiness. We cannot move through life programmed as a robot, shrugging off and denying every negative emotion. However, after acknowledging these emotions, we can proactively combat them by practicing a positive routine.

Quotes have been a powerful tool in my life throughout the years. Whenever I am seeking wisdom and motivation, I search for a quote on the internet. During my trying times when I needed uplifting words, I read an inspirational quote. And here’s an easter egg for those who may not have noticed: Every single one of my blog posts begin with a quote related to the topic. These concise sentences filled with clarity and hope spark light and understanding into my soul. Sounds intense, right? It is.

Quotes have the power to not only inspire the reader but transform the reader as well. Along with feelings of hope, quotes can awaken faith and inner strength. With this said, I figured I would share the wealth (because sharing is caring, and I care) of some inspirational quotes I regularly read. Here are my top ten inspirational quotes for 2022:

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” -Jane Goodall

“Be messy and complicated and afraid and show up anyways.” –Glennon Doyle Melton

“The comeback is always stronger than the setback.” -Catherine Plano

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” -Thomas A. Edison

“It is never too late to be what you might have been.” -George Eliot

“Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.” -Roy T. Bennett

“I never dreamed about success. I worked for it.” -Estée Lauder

“I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions.” -Stephen R. Covey

“Stop shrinking to fit places you’ve outgrown.” -Furaha Joyce

“Don’t be upset when people reject you. Nice things are rejected all the time by people who can’t afford them.” -Unknown

I hope reading these quotes lift your spirits high into oblivion. And I hope after you read them, you feel reassurance knowing that any negative emotions, circumstances, and situations are temporary. We are far greater than any attachment to negative matters. We bend but we do not break. We cannot break because life itself is a gift, no matter how complicated. There will be good days and bad, but if these quotes have taught me anything, it’s knowing how to turn lemons into lemonade. These quotes have taught me the importance of showing up for yourself even when your insides scream to give up. FAITH. It all comes down to faith. Blindly trusting in and being confident that everything will work out not only the way it should, but for the best. And when you look through the lens of that perspective, negativity diminishes and gratefulness flows in. Sending my love to all of you ❤

Like a lotus flower, I emerge from dark, murky waters to reveal my beauty. Feeling and healing on this journey of life; glowing and flowing. I have always loved writing, but it has taken me 29 trips around the sun before I had to confidence to share publicly. I hope my writing, which is near and dear to my heart, sparks light and love in all of you. Make yourself at home and enjoy the ride!

  1. I couldn’t agree more with Jane Goodall’s quote, it’s just a shame the people in power often make the wrong decisions.

One quote I’m not a fan of those is Roy T. Bennett’s quote. Happiness isn’t a choice. When you’re depressed joy simply doesn’t exist, no matter if you’re on holiday or working. That’s what depression does to you, it stops you from being able to feel happy

    1. I partially agree. I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression since I was 11 years old and although it felt like some days I would never see the light, I learned different methods to ease my mind especially after attending therapy. And maybe I’m not 100% happy but actively working towards happiness has brought me peace. So what the saying “happiness is a choice” means to me, is simply making the decision to change certain circumstances. I greatly appreciate your opinion. Thank you for reading and commenting!

  2. Favorite quote is from Catherine Plano I can relate to this many times throughout my life and situations I’ve gone through. Gives me a sense of motivation to get up and go for it despite whatever I’m going through💜

    1. One of my favorites too! Especially when it comes to my struggle with remaining consistent with blogging. I always tell myself that I will come back even harder and be better because of it! Thank you for sharing ❤ and for reading and commenting.

  3. Back when I was in high school, I had a whole folder of quotes that I loved on the desktop of the laptop the school lent us out for school work. This post reminded me of that little joy that I had!

As for your post, the ones that spoke to me the most were 1, 2, and 9!

My favorite has to be number 2 as it really fits the theme of how I’m changing my life around. I’m terrified of (almost) everything and showing up really does make all the difference. I have always been shaking, terrified, messy, wanting nothing more than to curl up in bed. However, showing up (both physically out of the house, or just showing up for my kids) has changed a lot.

Thanks for sharing! I love this idea for blog posts! (:

    1. I’m glad I reminded you of a more simpler time! I love your reason behind #2 being your favorite. I can definitely understand fear getting in the way of how you maneuver through life. I’ve been there! It makes me happy to hear that you are not only showing up for others but showing up for yourself as well. Thank you so much for reading and commenting!

One of my favorite quotes ever is “We shall draw from the heart of suffering itself the means of inspiration and survival.”

I have loved that quote since I was younger. ♥️

    1. Yes, that’s a great one especially if you struggle seeing the positive in a situation. I used to battle with pessimism until I realized I had the power to not change certain circumstances but how I react to those circumstances. Thank you for reading and commenting!

  5. I love quotes. I write them and affirmations and leave them around my house. You can always find a quote for everything lol. I love so many of these! One of my personal favorite quotes is by Maya Angelou. My mission in life is not merely to survive but to thrive and do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor and some style. 🤗

  6. Love this list! I have always loved quotes too, I find them really helpful.

“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” -Thomas A. Edison has always been one of my favorites. I think so often we focus on the failure instead of giving ourselves credit for trying. Also, failure is a part of life and after that experience we can learn from the lessons. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  7. You said it all so well. I believe that words have power. There are people that have mastered these words and used their knowledge, skills and experience to put into words what many of us hold in our hearts. I’ve used quotes throughout several of my posts as well and have a larger project in mind for them later in the year. Thank you for sharing these gems. It’s so nice to be able to reference something, just at the moment when we need it.

    1. Absolutely! There are times that I come across quotes and it feels like divine timing, like the universe is sending me a little extra love. I love moments like that. Our words and thoughts hold the key to the type of life we wish to create so we must choose wisely.
